David Hansell is a UAS Inspector with the Irish Aviation Authority. Prior to joining the IAA, he was Director of Aviation Policy at AALTO HAPS and previously served as Global Head of Aviation Regulation and Policy for Loon LLC, working with civil aviation authorities and air navigation service providers to support the development of aviation regulations that encourage innovation without compromising safety. David has also held senior policy roles with DJI and Facebook, and served as Director for Transportation Security Policy on the US National Security Council. Earlier in his career, he worked with the FAA, TSA and the US Air Force. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Oklahoma.
